Emergency Gate: You
04/01/13 || gk
What we have here is the 5th album from this German band and it mixes melodic death metal, metalcore and some power metal for about 45 minutes of competently played but utterly pointless modern metal. You’d expect a band with 5 albums under their belt to be competent and Emergency Gate surely are but I have to ask what the point of this album is. These guys also really like Soilwork, particularly in the way the clean choruses pop up and in the growled vocals. There’s plenty of synth at work here too, often brushing the entire music with a cheesy techno flavor. Also, even at 45 minutes, this album feels a bit too long.
4/10: Competent but utterly pointless modern metal.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
